Another way that peer to peer lenders work is to find a deal and make the loan, they then go back to their investors and ask them if they want to invest in a particular loan, this enables investors to actually pick which property they are lending on and also locations. Many investors prefer to stick within their local area as they feel comfortable with their own idea of valuations etc. The other way of investing in a Bridging Lender is to let the lender spread your investment over multiple properties, the choice is yours.
